Relationship saving strategies for any couple buying a house!

Talk about expectations.
Buying a house is one of the biggest financial decisions you will make.  There are alot of emotions tied up in the dream of owning a home.  You should have your budget as well as likes and dislikes discussed prior to starting your process.  Does one want a fixer-upper and the other not?   How long do you expect to live there?  Why do you want to buy a house?  Arguing during the process, not so much fun. Having an answer to these questions can reduce stress.  Enjoy the process, it should be a fun and exciting time for you.
Ask a professional.
Involving your agent in some of your discussions can be helpful.  They can be a neutral party to help guide you through the process constructively, think of them as a coach.  They've seen it all, and can give you the knowledge you need to make good decisions together as a couple.  They can be the light you need when you get discouraged if you've put in many offers and have lost out.  Have a plan, it will be worth it, so stick with it, you'll end up homeowners.
